Title
Settlement upon the marriage of John Kynnelmershe, son and heir of Thomas Kynnelmershe of Newton Hall, Donnemowe [Dunmow, Essex] and Kateryn, daughter of Humfry Bradburne of 'Hogh' [The Hough, Bradbourne] esq. Kynnelmershe to make an estate to Sir Henry Sacheverell, Sir Lewes Bagot, Richard Vernon, Robert Knyveton of Underwood, Thomas son of Sir Rauffe Longford and William Dedik, of estates in Derbyshire and Essex to the value of £50 a year upon trusts, that is certain lands in Kynnalmershe and Longe Eyton [Long Eaton] of the value of £8 a year to the use of John and Kateryn and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of Thomas, the residue of the lands, to the use of Thomas for life with remainder to John in tail general; Humfry to pay Thomas 100 marks [£66 13 4d] on the day of the marriage that is £6 to Thomas's own use and £6 13 4d to Cecilie his wife, to buy a bonnet. Each party to bear the cost of his own child's apparel for the wedding, Humfrey to bear the cost of meat, drink, dinner and supper on the day of the wedding, Humfry to find John and Kateryn meat, drink and lodging for one year after the marriage and Thomas to provide the same for the following year. 31 May, 6 Hy VIII
