Title	Gift by Walter de Abbetoft and Robert his son, to Louth Abbey

Description	Quit of all services, customs and exactions, rights in part of their woods at Barley [Barlow], viz from the corner of the monks' court- yard to the north east as far as the water of Bucckesclider [Buckleather?], along the stream which runs into the said water as far as Treford, all the land and wood to the south of Bucckesclider as far as the west side of the land which their lord Hasculus Musard gave them, with liberty of free entry and exit from the woods and fields of Barley with reasonable common pasture - also 2 forges or hearths, viz one bloom smithy in the woods and one forge in the monks' courtyard, with coal of dried wood and ore for one forge throughout the wood, and for burning the ore, dry birch, alder and oak when necessary, by view of their foresters or the reeve of Barley. When the monks do not operate the forge in the wood, they are to have two hearths in the courtyard for forgeing. Of trees which fall, those worth more than [ blank ] are to belong to the Abbetofts and the rest are to be used for charcoal, except such trees as shall fall in the land held by Thomas de Barleia. The monks staying at Barlei shall have common in the Abbetofts' woods for building, enclosing and fuel just as the king's men have. See microfilm M130 vol 3.
