NotesA small estate village and civil parish within the Chatsworth Estate in the Peak District National Park. The present village was largely rebuilt in the 19th century under the 6th Duke of Devonshire and Joseph Paxton, using a picturesque variety of architectural styles. At its centre is the Grade I listed Church of St Peter, whose churchyard contains the graves of members of the Cavendish family.
