1 - Will of William Twigge, yeoman, of Bakewell. His land is settled on his younger son, John, if his eldest son, Edward, cutler of Sheffield, leaves him undisturbed, he receives 20 nobles. Other bequests to his daughter, Margaret Sterndale, Bakewell Church, servants, etc. John Twigge to be executor assisted by John Rowlandson, clerk , and Richard Robberts, yeoman, of Bakewell. Probate Nov. 27th 1632. - 18 Jul 1624
2 - Pre-nuptial settlement (lease and release) and copy. John Twigge, the elder, yeoman, of Bakewell and John Twigge, the younger, yeoman, of the same, to Robert Scholler, yeoman, of Rowlsey and Jonathan Twigge, clerk, of Edensor. A messuage in Bakewell and the Heald Close abutting on the Bakewell to Monyash road; the Greenhill Hole Close, on the Bakewell-Ashford road; a moiety of the Greenhill meadow and other named property. To be held to the use of John Twigg and Ruth Scholler and their heirs, except for a life interest in the little parlour of the messuage, six beast gates, Catcliff pastures, etc of John Twigge the elder; Jonathan Twigge, to preserve the contingent remainders; and to other uses, in consideration of the marriage of John Twigg and Ruther Scholler and for £200. - 1-2 Jun 1683
3 - Lease. John Twigg, yeoman, of Bakewell to Robert Scholler of Rowseley, servant to John, Earl of Rutland. The little parlour in Twigg’s houses, six cow gates on Carcliffe and the Heald Close, for 99 years from Twigg’s death, in trust for Ruth, his wife; for 10/-. - 15 Jul 1689
4 - Release of legacy. James Pashley, late of Maltby, now of Leeds to Samuel Grover of Maltby. A sum of £60 bequeathed to Pashley’s wife, Ellen formerly Hawkesworth, by Henry Priest, in consideration of Grover saving Pashley harmless from the charges involved in a Chancery case with Major Wilson of Leeds. (John Hawkesworth was the son-in-law of Mary Scholler). - 11 Jan [1715]
5 - Copies of the will and probate of Mary Scholar, widow of Rowesley, but now living with her son-in-law John Hawkesworth of Nether Denby, parish of Penistone. Bequests to John and his wife, Mary, and to Thomas Walter, her son-in-law, and Robert Scholar, her son, who is appointed executor. Probate June 21st 1740. - 17 Apr 1757
6 - Receipts for legacies to Robert Schooler as executor of Mary Scholler and George Calvert. - 1733-1738
7 - Copy of the will of Robert Scholler. All his lead mines to his wife, Elizabeth. All his property at Skinnathorpe and Storrs, Sheffield and Asford, co. Derby to his wife, his daughter Elizabeth Watkinson and his sons-in-law, Godfrey Watkinson of Brampton Moor and John Lees, merchant, of Manchester in trust for stated uses. Probate Oct. 17th, 1748. (Extracts from this will are at D7674/Bar/D/619). - 22 Nov 1746
8 - Copy of the will of Elizabeth Schooler, widow of Rowsley. Bequest to Thomas Lees, her grandson, Dorothy Combault, her niece and Jane Sleigh, her niece. All her lead mines, etc. she leaves to her daughter Mrs Watkinson and the house at Rowsley near the smelting mill. - 28 Jul 1764
