1 - Lease for 40 years by 1 Anthony Roper of Eltham, Kent esquire to 2 Thomas Stych of Newberry, Barking, Essex esquire and Henry Stych his son and heir apparent for good and valuable causes, of manor of Weston and Aston, the site or capital messuage of the manor, with courts etc, woods, waters, fishings etc, the Parke Close 50 acres, close called Poole yarde 5 acres, Goresse Close 6 acres, close called Hall Orchard 4 acres, Newe Close alias Hollowe Close lately inclosed out of the common of Weston 100 acres, Cotte Close 1 acre and close called Caldwell Hill lately inclosed out of common field of Weston 50 acres, both meadow or pasture, first moath or crop of 3 parcels of meadow in Weston common meadow containing 20 acres, and the Meadow, parcel of meadow in Aston Meadowe called Lackholme or Lockholme 20 acres, parcel of meadow called Comholme or Cowholme 9 acres, close called Gill Meadow 4 acres, Allsomer meadow 6 acres, 3 yards of arable land with their meares, furrows and hades in the common fields of Weston and Aston, 3 closes of pasture called Deane Leasowe, Middle Close and the Old Close, in all 24 acres, meadow or pasture called Reddy Pitt Close 3 acres, Forcke meadowe 2½a, parcel of meadow called Hall greene 3 acres, all in Weston, Aston, Shardlow, Wilne, Kiddesley and Smalley, reputed the demesne lands of the manor of Weston and Aston (reciting former lessees and owners, see Manor of Weston group D 779B/T 123-209). 2 - Declaration of uses, with parties as in D 779B/T 46 and reciting D 779B/T 46 and that the purpose of the lease was that Thomas and Henry Stych might take the rents and profits of the premises to pay Roper's debts with interest at 8% per annum as set out in annexed schedule, that when the debts are paid the residue of the rents and profits are to be paid as Roper directs and in default of such direction, Thomas and Henry Stych will pay the profits to Mary Rooper, Anthony's daughter, in regard that by his marriage with her mother Mary he had the manor and premises conferred and settled on him. 3 - Counterpart lease for 7 years from Michaelmas last by 1 Thomas Stych of Nuberrie, Barking, county Essex Esquire, to 2 George Pulton of Desborough, county Northampton, esquire for good considerations, of capital messuage or manor house in Weston, and lands, coney warren etc taken to be the demesnes of and belonging to the messuage and now in several occupations and in Aston, Weston Wilne and Shardlow, free fishing in Trent and Derwent, liberty to dig pits for marl, limestone and other stone for building, to be used on the premises only, reserving courts, chief and quit rents etc. Rent £220. Pulton to have fence, plough, cart, yate [gate], stile and pale boots. Dated 12 November 17 Charles - 1641

4 - Assignment of lease by 1 Edward Earl of Dorset Lord Chamberlain of the King's Household, Sir Henry Compton of Brambletye, Sussex, Margaret widow of Anthony Roper late of Eltham, Kent, esquire, Thomas Stich of Newberry, Barking, Essex, gentleman and Henry Stich his son and heir apparent to 2 Robert Houlden of Shardlow gentleman in which Thomas and Henry Stich with the consent of Dorset and Compton to whom Anthony Roper devised the reversion of the premises in his will (see D 779B/T 207) to the uses of the will, and with the consent of Margaret Roper, and for £1400 paid by Houlden, assigned the premises as in D 779B/T 46, excepting the New or Hallowe Close, for remainder of 40 year term.
