1 - Certificate of receipt, made in the Cancellaria, of Mr Joseph Franel, for bill received from Mr Thomas John Barker of Smyrna for £250 on Mr John Dunnage of London, agent to Mr John Barker and William Walker, ex’ors of the Rev. Robert Charlesworth of Halifax, in payment for his interest in 2,500 dollars in the hypothecation of Mr William Barker of Smyrna: attested by George Boddington, Cancellier, and countersigned on November 15 by Anthony Hayes, consul. 2 - Certificate of receipt, made in the Cancellaria, of Mr Pietro Paola Giera, for 2,000 dollars (piastre), received of Mr Thomas John Barker, formerly advanced by Mr Antonio Bani to Mr William Barker, on the security of his house: Bani assigned his claim to Giera by document registered in Cancellaria on April 1784; (Italian); with Thomas John Barker’s statement that was acting on behalf of ex’ors of the Rev. 3 - Certificate of receipt, made in Cancellaria, of Richard Lee junior, for Lee and sons of Smyrna, British merchants for 4,500 dollars received from Mr Thomas John Barker; formerly furnished to Mr William Barker by Messrs Lee and Maltass in hypothecation of his house: Lee, in consideration gives up claim to sum so hypothecated, for his father Mr Richard Lee senior and as ex’or of Mr William Maltass, to Mr Charlesworth’s ex’ors: attested by cancellier and countersigned by consul. (Italian) with Thomas John Barker’s statement, 17 May, that he was acting on behalf of Mr Charlesworth’s ex’ors: attested by Cancellier and countersigned, 27 November, by consul. 5 - Certificate of receipt, made in the Cancellaria, of Mr Richard Lee, junior, for Lee and sons, Smyrna, for 2,500 dollars, received of Mr Thomas John Barker, advanced by the late Mr Valentine Humphrys to Mr William Barker; Lee was acting on behalf of his father, Mr Richard Lee, senior and his brother William Lee, ex’ors of Humphrys, in virtue of their order dated London, 18 July 1788: the claim to the said sum, hypothecated, is made over to Mr Charlesworth’s ex’ors: attested by Cancellier and countersigned by consul on 27 November. B(arker) proposes to remit £39.17.5. with interest from 14 January 1796, being the balance of Mrs (W) B(arker)’s £200 to Mr Perkins in the form of land, as soon as communication with Smyrna is secure; with regard to the shares in the profit of the mines, if there is more than enough to replay what is outstanding; the balance will be remitted to Mr William Barker.
