D428 - Bakewell title deed - 1662
1 - Feoffment by George Burton of Bakewell, yeoman, J Burton, his son and heir, and Wynnifride, wife of John, to George Savile of Bakewell, gentleman, and Matthew Wright of Tissington, gentleman, of a farm at Bakewell with all lands and tenements thereto belonging; with 3 closes at Bakewell, 2 called Goate Closes and 1 called Barnflatt; several parcels in Cowden Close (4 acre); a parcel in Middle Feild (1 acre) abutting upon Stockin Furlong, all in Bakewell in trust to uses as follows; - the Goate Closes and Barr Flatt to the use of George Burton for life and then to John and Wynnifride for their lives, as her jointure, in tail male; the 4 acre in Dowdon Close and 1 acre in Middlefield to the use of Moles Burton, second son of George, in fee simple; the rest to the use of John in tail male. Proviso that John shall at all time that George shall live with him and be maintained by him, pay him 40s a year and if George does not live with him then John is to pay him £10 a year in which case the lands to the use of George shall be held to the use of John and Wynnifride, in tail male. Further proviso that if John shall pay Moles £50 in five annual instalments, then the lands to the use of Moles shall be to the use of John in tail male. 27 Feb 1661/2 - 1662
