Manor in the Cromford area; contains Willersley Castle built in 1792 for Sir Richard Arkwright. The castle was used during World War II as a maternity home, later becoming a Methodist holiday and conference centre.
Kenneth Cameron's 'The Place Names of Derbyshire' (1959) Vol. 2, p. 389, places Willersley in the parish of Matlock.
