DescriptionAn inquisition by the sheriff at the Ship Inn, Full Street, Derby, in obedience to a writ of ad quod damnum issued out of Chancery 13 Sep 1773, to inquire if any damage would arise to the king or others if the king should grant a common footway leading from Cock Pit Hill, in the Borough of Derby, over Long Close, alias Cock Pit Hill Close, alias Cow Castle Close, and across Newlin Leys, and the end of a close belonging to Thomas Bonnow, to the turnpike road from Derby to Osmaston, in length 450 yards. The jury found that no damage would arise (no plan)
