Administrative HistoryIn 1897 Robert Dukinfield Darbishire of Manchester [Lancashire] purchased the Darley Dale Stone Co from the executors of Sir Joseph Whitworth, together with the Stancliffe Estate at Darley Dale. He in turn sold the estate to The Stancliffe Estates Co Ltd.
