| Administrative History | Codnor Church of England Schools comprised of: a Boys'; a Girls', and an Infants' school on Jessop Street. The Girls and Infants schools combined in 1921. In 1966, the schools were re-organised with the boys and girls merging to become a Junior Mixed School located at the former Codnor Secondary Modern School at Whitegates. The Infant and Junior Schools closed in August 1997 and the new Codnor Primary School opened in September 1997. |
| Custodial History | These records were transferred to Derbyshire Record Office by the Codnor Junior School in September 1971 and June 1992 and by Codnor Community Primary School in January 2004 and April 2021. Records were also transferred by Codnor Council Infants School in March 1997 and catalogued under reference D4652. These records were re-accessioned and re-catalogued into this collection in April 2021. |
