Administrative HistoryWillingham Franklin (1779-1824) was the second son of Willingham Franklin and his wife Hannah (nee Weekes) and elder brother of Sir John Franklin. He became a lawyer after studying at Oriel College, Oxford, and pursued a legal career in India, becoming Puisne Judge of Supreme Court in Madras. He married Catherine Elizabeth Burnside (1793-1824) on 19 Feb 1818; had 3 children, Catherine Ann (1818-1892), Willingham (born 1823) and Elizabeth (born 15 Sep 1824, died 17 Nov 1824).
