Title
Public/environmental art project file: Whitwell "Street Life" mosaics
Date
1998-1999
Description
Phase I of the project involved the delivery of a series of workshops to show people how to create mosaics/murals, and completion of some "trial" installations. Phase II involved the creation of murals and mosaics by local people with the assistance of professional artists. These works included a mural, later installed on the Co-Op building in Whitwell. Phase II involved the creation of murals and mosaics by local people with the assistance of a professional artist, Anna Dixon. The project was funded by Rural Action For The Environment.
Papers include artist's contracts, financial and budgeting information, correspondence about appropriate sites for the installation of mosaics, feedback forms recording people's responses to a display of artwork including indications of whether they would be happy to see these installed in Whitwell, and a site plan for the installation of the Co-Op mural.
