Date2001
DescriptionComprising:
D7913/3/3/2001/1: EAZ [North East Derbyshire Coalfields Education Action Zone - see D7913/6/6/19] Dance and Drama workshop at a school (location not given). (7 at 6 x 4 inches)
D7913/3/3/2001/2: Photographs of events run as part of "Word Magic", a club aiming to improve literacy levels among children and parents at Park Infants School, Shirebrook (See D7913/6/9/2). Images are arranged in five groups, with 5 or 6 pictures in each: Skill Share with puppeteer Alan Kirkpatrick; Mud/clay painting; Weaving; Mask Making; African Arts Skill Share (three photographs of children wearing aprons, perhaps creating textile designs). The event with Alan Kirkpatrick in fact dates from 2000 but all the other images are from 2001. In addition to these is a sixth group of photographs, captioned "Brockley School Poetry Performance with Mark Gwynne Jones", Apr 2001. These show children on a stage, some of them crawling and some with arms raised. Brockley Primary School in Shuttlewood was the venue for another "Word Magic" club, so it is likely that this event derived from the same initiative. See D7913/6/9/2.
D7913/3/3/2001/3: Photograph of two boys cutting the ribbon on the entrance to recreation area at Vale Park recreation ground flanked by councillors and other local people 2001, and the same location when empty of people. See also D7913/3/3/1998.
