Hartshorne Girls (to 1898) and Infants School
Administrative History
A parochial school for girls and infants in Hartshorne was opened some time before 1875. In 1898, a new infants' school was opened, and the girls' department amalgamated with the boys' school (see D7822) to create a new mixed department.
Custodial History
These records were transferred to Derbyshire Record Office by Hartshorne Parish Council in May 2015. According to information provided by a local resident, they may have been out of the custody of the school since an exhibition in the 1980s, although not necessarily in the custody of the parish council until immediately prior to their transfer to the record office.
