Administrative HistoryThe Glossop District was made up of chapels at Brookfield, Charlesworth, Symmondley, Chinley, Littlemoor (Glossop), Mount Pleasant (Glossop), Marple Bridge, New Mills, Thornsett and Bugsworth.

Littlemoor Congregational Church was built in 1811. It was enlarged in 1845, and renovated in 1886.

Charlesworth Independent Chapel was first licensed under the 1689 Toleration Act in 1709. The Chapel was rebuilt in 1798, then enlarged in 1827.
