Administrative HistoryThe Eyre family were established at Hassop from the late 15th century. The estate then passed to Colonel Charles Leslie, husband of the 8th Earl's sister, and his son CS Leslie. In 1919 the estate was purchased by Col. Sir Henry H Stephenson Bt. (1865-1947).
