Administrative History	Whitwell Wesleyan Chapel was built in 1891-1892 at a cost of £1,130 raised by subscriptions. It replaced an older chapel, built in 1858, which was then used as a Sunday School. The new chapel was described as 'a neat oblong building of brick in the Gothic style, with sitting accommodation for 350' (Bulmer's Directory, 1895).
Custodial History	These documents were donated by a private individual in July, August and November 2000.
