Administrative HistoryBenjamin Wyatt of Foolow in the parish of Eyam, and his sons William and Robert Wyatt of the same place were lead merchants and farmers. This collection of correspondence relates in the main to their lead mining business in Derbyshire. References are made to Magpie Mine in Sheldon (see also D504 and D5206), the Alport Mines (see also D504, D1289, D2067 and D5206) Water Grove Mine in Eyam (see also D1289 and D3304), High Rake Mine, New Rake Mine, Morewood Sough, Sheldon Field Mine, Placket Mine and Wheel Rake Mine (see also D2067). There are also letters relating to the Mixon Copper Mine in Staffordshire (see also D934). For 19th century leases (see also D1979). This collection also includes a number of seemingly unconnected letters.
