Administrative HistoryThis small collection relates to property owned by the Clews Family of Chellaston in the Shelton Lock area of Chellaston. The archive can be divided into two main areas. The first area includes records relating to the purchase and development of land and property in Shelton Lock, Chellaston. The second area includes records relating to the management and renting of the various properties. Although a small collection, this archive is particularly rich in maps and plans with many of the Title Deeds having such plans attached to them. Through these plans it is possible to trace, at least in part, the urban development of Shelton Lock, Chellaston.
Custodial HistoryThis archive was deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in October 1999. Added to the catalogue as part of the FindersKeepers project by volunteer Vicky Kerrigan.
