DescriptionMrs Sarah Waterhouse of Lomberdale Hall, Youlgreave, purchased the Middleton Hall estate from the trustees of the late Thomas William Bateman in 1913. F J Taylor, solicitor, of Bakewell, acted as her estate agent and was also agent on behalf of her son Charles Waterhouse, who took up the tenancy of Castle Farm in Middleton in 1915 and then enlisted into the British Army.
