Dethick, Lea and Holloway School Board
Administrative History
Lea Primary School was erected in 1859 as a mixed public elementary school with a separate Infants department. From 1888 it was administered by Lea, Holloway and Dethick School Board, subsequently becoming a Council school in 1903. The Infants and Junior departments were amalgamated to form a single primary school in 1937.
Custodial History
The records were deposited in the Record Office in April and May 1995 and January 1997. Personal papers of WJP Burton, headmaster, were donated by a descendant in August 2021.
