Administrative History
A Wesleyan Methodist chapel is said to have been built in Hartshorne near the end of the 18th century. A new chapel was commenced in 1904 and the old chapel sold in 1922. The church was part of the Ashby-de-la-Zouch Wesleyan Methodist circuit until 1873, part of the Woodville and Swadlincote Methodist circuit until 1955, and since thenpart of the South Derbyshire Methodist circuit. For a brief period from 1962 to 1967 it was part of the Newhall and Woodville Methodist circuit.
Custodial History
These records were deposited by the Superintendent Minister of the South Derbyshire Methodist circuit at various times from December 1983.
