Administrative History
Hatton School opened in January 1879. By 1882 a separate Infants Department were needed. In September 1957 it became a secondary modern school, with the newly-built Heathfield County Primary School taking infant and junior school children. Hatton School became a comprehensive school in September 1974 and a community school in 1985. It closed in July 1990.
Custodial History
These records were transferred to Derbyshire Record Office on closure of the school by the Head Teacher in June and July 1990
