Administrative HistoryCompiled by Mr B M Cole of Wyaston and relating to the history of well dressing in Edlaston and Wyaston 1869-1984. This began with the gift of a pump well to the village of Wyaston by Mrs Harriet Alderson (widow of the Reverend William Alderson) of Wyaston Grove in 1869. Bishop Hobhouse, rector of Edlaston, presented another smaller well to the parish of Edlaston and Wyaston in 1871. There were probably no well dressings from 1915 to 1919 inclusive and there were none from 1940 to 1968 inclusive.
