Administrative HistoryChesterfield Archaeological Research Committee was started in 1973.  Its name was changed in March 1976 to North Derbyshire Archaeological Committee with a wider remit.  In 1980 the Committee became a limited Trust which was wound up between 1983 and 1985.
Custodial HistoryThe records were given by the former trustees at various dates from June 1984. Added to the online catalogue as part of the FindersKeepers project , with the assistance of Nicola Wood.
