Archive CreatorJohn Boffey (1903-1991) of Newhall and Matlock, bus driver
Administrative HistoryJohn Boffey was born in Newhall, Swadlincote, in 1903, the son of William Boffey an Insurance agent for the Prudential, and his wife Ada. He was educated at the Boy's Grammar School in Ashby de la Zouch and lived in Newhall until 1927-1928, when he briefly lived in Chesterfield before moving to Matlock Bath. He was living in Matlock Bath when he married Margaret Bowsher in 1930. By 1935 he had moved to Lime Tree Road, Matlock, where he remained until his death in 1991.
