Administrative HistoryThe Manor of Alderwasley was probably first included in the widespread Manor of Duffield owned by the family of Ferrers, and afterwards attached to the Duchy of Lancaster. Henry VIII, in 1528 granted the Manor of Alderwasley to Anthony Lowe. The Manor eventually passed, through descent, to the Hurt Family.
Custodial HistoryThe records were deposited in the Record Office by the Steward of the Manor in December 1962.
