Administrative HistoryIn 1824, the Pleasley estates became the property of the Nightingale family of Lea. Through the marriage of Parthenope Nightingale to Sir Harry Verney of Claydon, Buckinghamshire, they passed to the Verney family and specifically to Parthenope's stepson, Frederick William Verney (1846-1913). His successor, Sir Ralph Verney (d.1959) sold the Pleasley estates in 1926.
