DescriptionThese records are informally arranged into “collections”, reflecting three original sources, plus one “miscellaneous” collection. Arrangement: D1289/BL/1-251a, the Wagstaffe Collection: Lead mining records relating to the mineral interests of the Duke of Rutland, formerly in the possession of a trustee of the estate of John Wagstaffe, barmaster to the Duke of Rutland until 1882 D1289/BL/252-371a, the Manton Bagshawe Collection: material previously held by a firm of solicitors in Sheffield D1289/BL/372-395, the Hodson Collection: Material relating to the mining interests of the Hodson family. Thomas Hodson formed the Cromford Mining Co and had an interest in gold speculation at Ible.
