DescriptionBetween (1) Dame Rachel Austen of the parish of St George Hanover Square, Middlesex, widow of Sir Robert late of Hall Place, Kent, and Baroness le Despenser, sister of Francis Lord le Despenser, deceased, (2) Philip, Earl Stanhope and his son Charles Stanhope, Lord Mahon, and (3) William Nadin of Spaldington, parish Bubwith, Yorkshire, gentleman, in consideration of £4,630, of several closes in Newhall and Stapenhill called (1) Horse, Green, Hill, Stoney Dale, Upper Stoney Dale, Nether Uppersets and Upper Uppersets Closes (69 acres), (2) Clover and Tree Closes and Old Pasture all formerly Stoney Dale (25 acres and buildings), (3) Pickerings Wood (13 acres), (4) Upper and Lower Corney Closes and the Pingle (9acres), (5) tithes, (6) half mines under lands in Newhall, Stapenhill and Hartshorne, and (7) certain manorial rights in liberty of Newall, subject to coal leases
