Description
Indenture between (1) Reverend Richard Neile, Archbishop of York, and his son and heir apparent Sir Paul Neile, knight (2) Elizabeth Place, one of the daughters of William Place, deceased, Sir Richard Hutton the younger of Hooton [Hutton] Pannell, Yorkshire, knight, Robert Newell, doctor in divinity, Chaloner Chute of the Middle Temple, esquire, and Ann his wife, mother of Elizabeth Place by William Place her former husband, and William Sanders of Flatbury, Worcestershire, esquire.
In consideration of the intended marriage between Sir Paul Neile and Elizabeth Place and of £4340 as the marriage protion.
Dated 2 Feb 11 Charles 1635: by modern reckoning the year is 1636.
