Description
Entries arranged alphabetically by surname in 4 sections. Columns for date of first employment, name, signature, witness to signature, age, registration number (in practice used to indicate local goverment area), occupation, exemption certificate number, date of first employment at a coal mine, place of last employment, whether ever suffered from Nystagmus, address, whether in receipt of a copy of the rules and understood the conditions of employment, whether qualified to work alone and date of leaving (several columns often left blank). The volume was started in 1918, but includes information back to 1903 for first date of employment and 1858 for first date of employment in a coal mine.
