Administrative History
John Foster was the Director of the Peak District National Park from 1954 to 1968, the slides show the development of the Peak District National Park from its early days until 1968 when John Foster took up a new role as the first Director of the Countryside Commission for Scotland (now Scottish Natural Heritage/NatureScot).
Custodial History
These records were donated to Derbyshire Record Office by a descendent in January 2025.
