Cromford Canal Company
Administrative History
The Cromford Canal between Langley Mill and Cromford, with a branch in Pinxton, was authorised by Act of Parliament in 1789, but not fully opened until 1794. It was taken over by the Midland Railway in 1870 and finally abandoned in 1944.
Custodial History
These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in April 1974.
