Biography
Grange Hill was a man of African descent who was enslaved at the Grange Hill plantation in Jamaica. In 1771 he was recorded as a boy, working as a muleman. It is possible that he was born at Grange Hill c1755-1765 and was named after his place of birth. His death was recorded as 29 May 1814 and his cause of death 'old age'.
