History
Heanor is one of the ancient parishes in the county, consisting of the townships of Heanor, Shipley, Codnor and Loscoe. Marlpool, Millhay and Langley Mill were also within the parish. During the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, new parishes were created out of Heanor: Codnor, Loscoe, Cotmanhay and Shipley, Marlpool and Langley Mill.
