History
A cottage home for boys was opened by the Belper Board of Guardians at Park Side in 1905 for 16 boys. It was probably renamed from Belper Boys' Home to Meadow Bank Home for Boys about 1948. In 1953, the number of beds was rediced from 14 to 12.
In 1969, a proposal was made to replace Meadow Bank with a new home at Swadlincote. The building was sold in 1971.
