| Biography | Thomas Sanders was a military commander in the Pariiamentarian army under Sir John Gell (commander in chief of the forces in Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Warwickshire). In 1646 he became a Colonel of the Nottingham Regiment. He was elected as an MP representing the Third Protectorate Parliament of 1659, as the Protectorate was becoming unstable, and supported the restoration of the monarchy. |
