Biography
Henry was the eldest son of Henry Gladwin (1692-1763) of Stubbing Court, Wingerworth, and his second wife, Mary Digby Dakeyne. In 1762, he married Frances Beridge (1741-1817) which whom he had ten surviving children. He served in the British army in North America, and was the British commander at the Siege of Fort Detroit during Pontiac's War of 1763-1766. He died at Stubbing Court in 1791.
