History
According to the earliest evidence available in a preachers' plan of 1824, there were societies at Bradwell, Hathersage, Tideswell, Hucklow, Hope, Castleton, Bamford, Edale, Thornhill, Wardlow, Abney, Sparrowpit, Peak Forest, Gellet Hay and Hag Lee (later both Woodlands), Litton, Derwent and Cressbrook.
In 1905 Bradwell had joined with Bakewell to form the North Derbyshire Mission Circuit, by which time the circuit no longer included Wardlow, Abney, Derwent and Cressbrook.
