British Labour Party politician, MP for Derby South since 1983 and as of 2021 is the longest-serving female MP. Deputy Leader of the Labour Party under John Smith from 1992 to 1994, briefly served as Leader of the Labour Party after Smith's death. Appointed Britain's first female Foreign Secretary in 2006.
