Custodial HistoryThe Whitemoor Centre in Belper was founded as Whitemoor Adult Training Centre (ATC) in c1985 (for building plans, see D2200/C/44/1). It served adults with learning disabilities, helping them develop skills. In 2022, Derbyshire County Council decided to close the centre and transfer provision to the Parkwood Centre in Alfreton. A report considered at the 10 Mar 2022 cabinet meeting said that this was "a more suitable building as it has significantly more facilities for example a cafe, training rooms and an IT suite".

The Alderbrook Day Centre in Chinley was first named Alderbrook Adult Training Centre. The building was planned in the 1960s-1970s (see D2200/C/43/4) and constructed in the 1970s, funded by the Derbyshire Area Health Authority (see D1972). It provided activities for people with learning disabilities. In November 2024, Derbyshire County Council's cabinet approved permanent closure of Alderbrook, alongside three similar day centres (No Limits, Outlook, Parkwood) and four short break services (Hadfield Road, Newhall Bungalow, Petersham, Victoria Street).
