Each card has: A case number, giving a simple running number, occasionally including an alphabetical suffix to connote relationship between exhibits. A class, i.e. category or field of study, such as Geography, Geology, History, Natural History, Sculpure. Some categories are further divided. For instance, Arts has sub-categories for Textiles, Music and Entertainment. A title and description of exhibits. Start and finish dates for cataloguing. Origin/Countries. This field is usually blank but occasionally identifies third party organisations, e.g. Sikh Cultural Society. Packing, giving information such as the dimensions of boxes. |
