Description
Corporal Joseph Provines was a machine gunner in the 17th Battalion Royal Fusiliers. He was originally from Clowne. He died in action on 30 November 1917 whilst on active service on the the front line [location unknown] at the age of 27. Prior to the war had formerly worked at Barlborough Colliery.
