Description | The Standing Joint committee (see 1/6/1-17) had control initially of all buildings used for police and quarter sessions purposes - the county surveyor was designated surveyor to the Standing Joint committee until January 1906. Hence these minutes pre-date the formation of the County Council. As the Council's work increased, the committee became responsible for all county council administrative offices. In 1930, new committees were set up, with responsibilities for county offices and architectural services - for minutes of these see 1/39/1-2 and 1/40/1-4. |
