Administrative HistoryThis is one of the ancient parishes in the country. It contains the townships of Morton, and Brackenfield and Woolley Moor. There was a chapel (ancient chapelry) at Brackenbury, which became an ecclesiastical district in 1844. A new church, Holy Trinity, was built in 1855 and this became a separate parish in 1856.
