Description
Portrait shows her left hand holding her chin, painted possibly in the 1840s, based on her hairstyle; she is identified in pencil on the back in a much later hand as Lady Simpkinson, which she became in October 1845, when her husband Sir John Augustus Francis (Frank) Simpkinson was knighted.
Oval-shaped, with oval frame (made of card, detached).
Size, with frame, 24 x 30 cm, image size 18 x 24 cm.
