Comprising report, dated 20 July 1855 (pages iii-ix), proceedings of committee, 2-18 July 1855 (pages x-xix), list of witnesses, 2-6 July 1855(page xx), minutes of evidence, 2-6 July 1855 (pages 1-32), appendix of tabular return from the Admiralty relating to Arctic discoveries from 1819-1850, reecording names of officers and ships, dates of sailings nd returns, places wintered, and coats discovered. (pages 33-34) and letter from Lady Franklin on the relative claims of her "late" husband and his companions and Captain McClure, (page 35), with chart of the Arctic shores of America and part of Asia, drawn from offical documents by John Arrowsmith.
