Booklet inscribed on front endpaper "To my dear Father from his very affec.te daughter Eleanor Isabella Franklin, 9th May 1848". Envelope addressed to Captain Sir John Franklin, R.N., H.M.S. Erebus, marked in bottom left hand corner "By Sir James Ross", marked in top left hand corner "returned from Arctic regions".
